Colour roles on Discord

Open the following things:
- Your Discord group
- Canva
- Your Carl Bot dashboard.
First get an idea of the gradient of colours you want to use. You can get one from online or use something within Canva. Maybe there is an image you really like? I used someone else's list with their permission.
Upload the image to Canva if you got it from elsewhere, as you'll use this to get your hex codes.
Next you'll pick your emojis and associated names. I picked ones I liked, and then gave them names that were either simple or silly. You can draft this in a Discord message initially.
Back in Canva, open a document, import the gradient image, add the list of colour names and begin assigning hex codes. It's as easy as highlighting the colour name and using the colour change picker tool to pick the colour from the gradient image. Then copy the hex code next to your colour.
When you are done, download as a Word document.
Next you'll create a role in Discord for each colour. Name the role your colour name, and copy the hex code from your document into the colour picker tool there. Ensure these are near the top of the list of roles, so that they actually change the colour of the person's name in Discord. I pop mine under the Bot role.
Next you'll post the Discord message of the roles in your server. And begin adding the reaction options in Carl bot Dashboard.
Carl bot will associate 20 emojis per message, so if your colour options are more than 20, you'll need to post as 2 separate messages.
You'll need access to the message ID's, through developer mode. If you don't have this enabled, click on the Settings cog next to your name, go to Advanced, and switch on Developer Mode.
Once Developer Mode is on, right click the first message with the colour list and choose "Copy ID".
Then go into Carl bot dashboard - Utility - Reaction Roles. Create a new reaction role. Where it says "Please enter message ID", paste the ID you just copied.
Select the channel where your colour list is. Mine is simply "Roles".
Then add emoji.
Select option is to choose the role (colour) that goes with that emoji.
Click "Add emoji" and go through your first 20 in the first message, then press "Create".
If you have more than 20, go through the same process, this time saving the message ID from the second message.
Once the emojis are added, it will look something like this.
That should be done! If there is any part of this guide you don't understand, shoot us an email and I'll have a looksee.
